Insert bearings

Hi Gents,
I have looked at the web sites of some of the Model A parts suppliers and it seems as if loose insert conrod bearings are not available. Main bearing inserts are available, however it seems as if conrod inserts only come with NEW conrods and not separate.
Could anyone please shed some light on the subject?

Re: Insert bearings

Check Snyder's. The new rods do not come with bearings you buy the size you need.

Re: Insert bearings

Original rods are rough-machined, then babbitted. In order to put inserts in them they must be re-machined to fit the insert, likely just as economical to make new rods and be assured of new parts, old rods often have weak threads.

I believe there are 2 styles,..with and with-out flanges on each side. Post a photo(s)
of your rod bearings...please..

Re: Insert bearings

Rich Falluca at antique engine rebuilding makes insert rods and could supply you with the correct parts. He has both styles in stock and could answer your questions.
