Transmission dipstick kit Is anyone using a dipstick kit to check level of oil in the trans?

Re: Transmission dipstick kit I put one on my coupe. Purchased from Mitchel OD/trans mfg. I’m 82 and limit my time under the A if possible. Cut a hole in the floor board and pull the carpet back to access the dip stick. YEA, no more back pain! 👍 😊

Re: Transmission dipstick kit The transmission dip stick makes the level easy to check, but not so easy to correct. I had to try several funnels to get the right shape/size to use to fit through the floor board and to fill through the tube; and then you have to add a little at a time and recheck with the dip stick several times to know if you have added enough or too much. You have to replace the cap each time in order to use the dip stick and get a correct reading.
But it is still easier than crawling/squeezing under the car in the dirt, and lying on your back with oil dripping down you wrists and into your face. W. Michael |
Re: Transmission dipstick kit I am and really like it. Easy to install.

Re: Transmission dipstick kit I have one, use for same reasons as post 5, back issues.
I also installed the Battery access kit so I do not have to remove the entire lower floor board to remove/install/service the battery. Type in Macs parts, search for battery kit. Tried to include a link, but keeps going to a Ecklers Corvette parts page. |
Re: Transmission dipstick kit Only downside, would be nice if they made a trans kit where the tube/dip stick stuck above the floor. Then there would be no need to pull the floor covering and access plate up.

My solution to ease access to the transmission fill plug.

I like your gearshift nob. It looks like it's an antique door knob. I grew up in the '40's and '50's in a house that was built in the late 1890's or early 1900's. All our doors had that type of door nobs. David Serrano |

Hi Fred, yes I have it since 9 month. It is a good idea. I would buy it again.
