I am planning to be there in my newly created '35 fordor flatback sedan..... Rat Rod.

Vic, will you or any of your neighbors mind me pulling this into the gated community there? The straight pipes/open exhaut system is a little loud when I start revving that big block OHV chevy engine up to around 6 to 8 grand. It usually takes that kind of rpm to squeal those big rear tires when I dump the clutch.

LOLOL....yes Don, I decided to build this 35 slant back fordor sedan (in my mind :)) after seeing the new Star Wars movie. It would take a lot of guts, or possibly a gun to my head, to transform my survivor 35 standard fordor slant back sedan over to this fire breathing, monster of a Rat-Rod, especially since I could not bring myself to even put a new hole anywhere in its beautiful firewall, fenders or body :).

Hi Jerry, I haven't secured a discount rate just yet however, I'm sure we will be able to get a deal at the same hotel we've worked with for the last several years. Once I get conformation, I will post the info here.

We have made arrangements for the hotel for the 2016 Florida "Barner's Bash". The discount room rate is $79.95 per night. When you call to book a room, make sure you mention the Cigar City Flatheads to get the discount. See you in March.

Do you have a detailed schedule? I want to see about flights before it gets too late. Probably best to fly down Thursday night. What time do you expect to finish up on Sunday?

Vic Piano 02-05-2016 02:42 PM

Re: 2016 Florida "Barner's Bash"

The schedule is as follows: Most out-of-towners will arrive at the hotel on Thursday afternoon or evening. As yet we have not scheduled anything for Thursday evening however, that will most likely change.

Friday we will meet at the hotel at 8:00 am and depart at 9:00 am for our cruise up to Ocala to tour "Big Daddy" Don Garlits Museum. We will have lunch and cruise back to Tampa. Friday evening we will try to arrange a group diner dinner.

Saturday we will meet at the hotel (time to be determined) for our cruise to Dade City (details to follow). At this time we have not confirmed any activities for Saturday evening.

Sunday we will meet at my house and travel as a group to the Park where we have the BBQ. Most likely we will get to the Park between 10:00 and 10:30 am. We have the pavilion reserved from 8:00am till dusk however, you can leave at any time, as there is no set schedule. Hope to see you at the event.

We got a good deal on plane tickets to Orlando from Jet Blue. Doing Disney with Son, his wife and twin granddaughters, then some day trips around Southwestern Florida, and finally to the Cigar City Flatheads Barner's Bash.

☆Vic, we are counting on you to order up some good weather for this years Barner's Bash gathering ;):D
