Converting heater to 12volts

Converting a 46 Ford coupe.Tried to use a heater motor from NAPA # 655-1020 (61-63 Chevy truck)but about 1/2-3/4 inches too long.
Any suggestions regarding what motor to use or other procedures would be appreciated….thanks

What was too long? the body of the motor or the shaft? If it was the shaft you can cut it to make it shorter.

I ran my avatar 6v heater on 12v for many years with no problems.

I found a 12v computer fan that fit my heater. Cheap and works good.

Never changed my 6 volt 2 speed heater motor in my '51 Merc.
Has been running on 12 volts as needed for well over 20 years.
Only difference is it runs faster just like the starter motor.

Thanks for the advice, I’m going to reinstall my 6 volt motor.

Re: Converting heater to 12volts

dono, I used a motor from Dennis Carpenter PN B6A-18527-B in my '46 Ford but it was over $100. About a month ago someone also asked about a 12V motor and someone posted a suggestion for almost the same motor for half the price. If you search this site you might be able to track down that post.
