John, that is a terrible discovery. I can't imagine West Point, CA being that big and hopefully they have a local law enforement agency, and some folks that are focused on doing the right thing, and that your 36 will turn up. I am in Elk Grove, CA and will keep my eyes open.

This should go to the "Sticky" status to stay on the top of the forum pages - we all should be vigilant to help with information as known. Hopefully the car is not disassembled for parts on epay or foreign shipment!

This is why I support the return of public hangings. Matt Dillon wouldn't stand for horse thieves and we shouldn't stand for car thieves. I work to hard to EARN my paycheck to have some lowlife take it.

Public hangings are good, but . . . . . how about something slower and excrutiatingly painful?

Just damn!!

But, it was probably all just a silly mistake and besides they had a difficult childhood and how can you roughiens speak of hanging and elongated painful acts for such a minor mistake? NOTICE: Tongue-in-cheek

Good luck John. Maybe you could have the body number here to help identify your car. I sure hope the thieves get busted.

Keep an eye on eBay and Craigslist listings. Someone in Washington got his stolen car back when he spotted parts from it on Craigslist.

Is this a sign of things to come? Or that are already here due to the Socialist economy?
I have my car and parts shop protected by 3 large dogs. Of course they are backed up by Mr. Winchester and Mr. Glock also and one old, cranky, retired Deputy Sheriff who will not hesitate to call upon those fine two gentlemen either. ;)

Re: Stolen 1936 ford in Lodi CA

Thanks for all the input

I did post it on the HAMB too ..

no sign of it yet

the Fuzz will be watching the ports I am sure ..

will keep ya posted

I kinda feel they will sit on it and keep it well hidden till the heat dies down

they were after the enclosed trailer and got the 36 ford inside as a bonus and I don't think they really know what to do with it

maybe an hidden gps on the cars are good idea ....

and this car is owned by Jim Dyer of Lodi .... Dyers Chevy parts guys .. he is set up at Goodguys in Pleasanton today and tomorrow... he loves 36's and he is pissed ..as you would expect

My Hudson was broken in to parked outside the KFBK radio station studios in Sacto a few weeks ago .. they broke "the hard to find" 1946 glove box door latch (which was unlocked) and took my $600 titanium frame trifocal prescription sunglasses and my "drive thru" coffee money ...20 single dollar bills.... all the while.. people were walking by going into the building ....

Mike in AZ . . . . .I like it!!! Immerse a few inches, pull out, let sit for an hour or two to consider his crime, then re-immerse a couple of inches past the first immersion, repeat, repeat. . . . . .

Once again the NRA faction says a car is worth a man's life.
Not in my religion.

Well BrianCT, then that is why you live on the east coast with the heavily populated areas. As for me, I was born and raised in the great open western part of these here United States of America, served proudly in our U.S. Army in Viet Nam, served a career in law enforcement, again in the great outdoors where backup was often quite a ways off and now am retired in the wide open expanses of the southwestern United States of America. I will defend and protect what is mine at my age. We will no longer get that second chance in this country to build up our "treasures". I will enjoy my freedom for the next little bit until the Basxxxds in Washington remove also our few remaining freedoms.
My "religion". :)

I believe it is called a deterrent. When you were hung for stealing a horse not near as many horses were stolen. Some people are bad and I don't care how nice you are or how sorry you feel for them they only understand absolute consequences for there actions. That's why the bible says sin is sin across the board not sin is sin unless you had a bad upbringing. Sin= punishment, crime (should) =punishment.
