Age isn’t the measure it’s abilities both mental and physical Keep going my friend! |
Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? We all have an expiration date stamped on us somewhere. We shouldn't give it up until that date.

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? In a World full of unbelievable bad news...day after day...it's nice to get a piece of good news.
Keep going Tony, you'll know when it's time to stop "I what to be like Tony", is a good motto |
Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? Not a lot of our members born before The Model A was produced! He could be our oldest member! Congratulations Tony!

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? I'd say it's time, no matter the age, when you lose interest. If the A sits and deteriorates and it makes you feel bad to look at it, its time to sell. If you are still getting someone to wheel you out to the garage to tinker at 106 yrs old, keep at it, you haven't lost interest.

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? It also depends on where you live. If you live in an urban area it is more dangerous because the speed and bad habits of today’s drivers. If you live in a rural area you probably can keep driving longer depending on your physical and mental acuity.

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? We have a club member in the Santa Anita A's of Arcadia, California who is in his mid 90's and looks like a man in his 60's. An amazing man, still drives his modern car and his Model A. Last I heard he still goes hiking in the mountains. He served in the army in WWII, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and crossed the Rhine in a rubber boat under fire. He was recently honored by throwing out the first pitch at Dodgers Stadium and wearing his Ike jacket that still fits. Ken is an honored treasure of our club.

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? Adapted from flying:
One of two things will happen. One day you will walk up to your Model A not knowing it will be your last time. One day you will walk up to your Model A knowing it will be your last time. |

Re: At What Age Do You Give It Up? My daughter when she worked at the Va.Hospital, kept a Model A Horn and Quail on her desk.
The ol timers came by everyday to pick the items up and hold. Now and then they would carry them to the men who couldn't get around. They never gave up. |
