Still sober

Hello all; I've been a member of the barn since Shelly had it, and I've taken an annual liberty to post my sobriety because I care. It was actually two days ago I reached 19 years. It's NOT about me. I just want anyone that needs it, to know there is hope and help available. I drank a half a gallon a day and it wasn't easy to stop but I didn't do it alone and I don't continue alone. I'm not special or unique I just stay sober a day at a time with others that have the same disease that I have. If you need help just reach out. I wish all a productive and uneventful tonight and tomorrow, Craig.

Good work, Craig.
I'm at 3 1/2 years in 10 days. As you said, once you reach a certain point you just can't do it without help. For those who may be out there struggling, reach out to those who have lived it and can help. That's why we share our stories instead of hiding them from others.

That's great news, Craig. It's always good to see you make this post here. You never know who might be struggling with some type of an addiction, and reading your post might provide encouragement for them to seek help. I personally gave up smoking cigarettes in 1980, and that was a real struggle for me for several years before the craving finally stopped.

I will be at 19 years on the 27th I still have moments but the urge to not drink is beyond the urge to drink. Sobriety is worth it

Well done. I remember a previous post, so I guess that must have been a year ago. One day at a time, as they say.

Mart.

Good job. I have known Bill W for almost 30 years. It works if you work it. Like you said, one day at a time...

Good for all of the "quitters" who have given testimony. My Dad was an alcoholic from the time I was about 12 years old until he died of complication from it at age 58. It ruined his life and our family's life. Thankfully, our Saviour has spared me the sickness.

I like the annual update. I cut loose from all the chemicals when I was 28 years old.
