interior door release transfer bar and clips

While removing the door cards from the drivers door of my 35 Slant back, a small, "pin", and washer fell to the floor. It was learned they may retain the transfer bar at either end. The one nearest the latch is the one that fell. Are these reproduced? What holds it in place? it appears to be flared as if they are pressed into the transfer bar and that is all that retains them.

The first photo is the end i am referencing. The second is the other end of that transfer bar. The third is the same position, on the passengers side. What holds the bar in place? Is there something hidden? Did the pin and washer I have, come from there.

You remove the 3 screws from the second pic and take the complete assembly and rotate the rod , it’ll fit on the pin if in the correct position. Then replace the screws . This is if I understood your question correctly.

Thanks Ggmac, but I am asking what keeps the transfer bar on the stud? As I said, I found some kind of pin or a piece of one, on the floor. But all I have at the door is what you see. A transfer bar not in place and a stud that has seen better days. Do they make repop studs?

The stud on the latch is designed that way.The remote arm is worn out.It needs replaced or hole repaired. The hole on the remote arm is slotted. Might be some on Ebay
This a pic of a remote arm end with the slot.

Look like wear on the left side of the slot thats what I see. The slot looks ok, braze it and file it round .

The retainer is T shaped. The bar has a slot. The slot lays over the T. Move the barthe T holdsbar. Yours are very worn. I’d find some better ones. Tack weld in place.

Thanks Deuce Lover. I knew mine was worn, but I didn't think it to be that bad. I have found replacement studs, but no bars, yet.

Remove the arm (bar) and repair the hole (braze or weld) so it just fits over the flat sides of the stud. Looks like the stud is okay??? but I can't tell from the picture. When the arm is put back into position the bar will stay on the stud.

The item that feel off may have been a quick fix by the prior owner.

That is how the 37 -40 latch is designed .Line up the remote arm slot to the latch and then slip it in and turn it 90 degrees .It will not slip out. That pic I posted is off an EBAY listing so arms can be found although might have to be altered according to length or partially weld up the worn one and with a small file trim it.

Here is a remote on EBAY. You cand can cut and splice this on yours if that is easier for you.
