You have a 92 or a 94? Is that a typo above? any other numbers on the Carb? Is the letter "H" embossed? The rebuilding kit instructions are very poor. Best to follow the Ford instructions from the Service Bulletins. The Chandler Grove instructions should be the same as the Holley.

Re: Carb rebuild instructions The carb model 92 is the Holly that was used on the 1940 V8-60.

Re: Carb rebuild instructions Terry,OH
I think it was 92. the number stamped on the carb body is 92. |
Re: Carb rebuild instructions When I saw the photo of your engine I thought it was 85HP if it is, you want a 94 marked 91-99 made by Holley (embossed with H)

Re: Carb rebuild instructions It is the 85 HP. Is it the wrong carb somehow? That would be interesting as I think it's still the original, unless it was changed 60+ years ago.

Re: Carb rebuild instructions With a 92 cast on the driver's side of the bowl, that indicates a V8-60 carb as Gary In La stated in post #3. If you have an 85 HP engine, that carb is too small for full power. May work OK in the city, but restrictive at high speeds.

Re: Carb rebuild instructions You should be able to make an excellent trade for a correct model 91-99 94.

Re: Carb rebuild instructions Anyone have a 94 carb for sale? I’ve already 92, will run locally with that for now but I’d like to get it right.

Re: Carb rebuild instructions There are several on Ebay. Unless you know what your looking at you can easily get burned there. Many Ebay Carbs are missing parts, incorrect tops, bases, frozen throttle shafts, incorrect parts. Although parts are available they can run up the price of a Carb very quickly. Charlie Schwendler is the man for 94 rebuilds but he also has pieces if you want to do your own. Many rebuilders change the patina on their rebuilds, if the appearance is important to you.
