V8-60 industrial app

This little 60 powers a Hobart Brothers 220 amp arc welder. It was made in 1937 according to the factory. The engine purrs like a kitten and everything is undergoing restoration.

There is a bronze carb adaptor and a 1-barrel from, I think, a Ford 6. Anybody else seen one of these?

(This is a great new setup. Thanks.)

How did the block differ??
I once had the disorienting experience of finding a first-generation (GB, Europe only) 60 block in a French junkyard. For years I almost doubted my own eyes...
Four mains, 2 exhaust ports, totally different valve order.

The French used the little flathead in a Simca, I think. There was quite a lot on info in the forum some time ago. Perhaps when all the new connections are made we can look that up again. Finding old posts is supposed to be easier now (or soon).

Was it an early block, perhaps, with the the "tin" sides?? Or did it have extra castings, etc??

Neat little welder, no matter if the block is different still would be cool to use.
