Early ford frame stamps

Looking for any contact info or a business that sells reproduction early Ford frame stamp sets. Looking for a set with the correct 6’s and 9’s as well as the A, B and dash. The forward number on my frame has been pitted away, just want to stamp it so I don’t have to pull the body to verify. Thanks for the help!

As Zeke points out Restostamps has the correct stamps, the unique 1, 6 and 9.

Check this link to someone advertising a set. I don't know if he still has them but it's worth a shot.

McMaster - Carr has them--total for everything less than 50 dollars--google them and save yourself money.

Either way... What is the correct 9/6/I set for a 1947? And do any of these sets include the star?

Re: Early ford frame stamps

the sets all include the star, however they do not have the double arrow for in between the the "18" and the serial number. they have just a straight "dash' stamp instead. however, when i look thru my hoard of junk i see that not all trans numbers are the same pattern. some have the double arrow, some have a dash, and some just have a wide blank space. all old junk, hard to imagine someone messed with them, so my guess is that its another "what ever the guy on the line felt like doing", or a difference in manufacturing plants

What I find odd in post #10 is that there were two different style stamps used for the number 1 and number 6. I've never seen this before.

Ford changed the fonts on some of the characters (1, 6, and 9) to make it harder for bad guys (including un-scrupulous GOOD guys) to alter serial numbers. The "normal-looking" "1" was replaced at this time with an upper-case letter "I", as were the changed-font "6" and "9". Thank you to Mac VanPelt for the examples below. DD

Ford actually changed the number style in February of 1931, during the Model A production.

Re: Early ford frame stamps

I bought a set of these years ago that did include the star, the 6 and 9 that looks like a musical note as well as a capital I for the 1. I have seen some frames that have the dash that looks like a double ended arrow and some that are just a dash. You can make a short dash out of an old cold chisel (which I did).
