1941 Merc Carb Kit wanted/needed

The model 94 carbs are all very similar. I would suggest CharlieNY here on the barn for a rebuild kit or repairs. There are others as well. Here is a thread with info.

The power valve fit is the main concern on all the model 94 units. A guy like Charlie can get the modern ones to fit and seal correctly.

You will find the kit for your '41 Merc at C&G (800/266-0470). ask for 59A-9590-HQ, V8, "94", $41.95. If your carb is beyond rebuilding with a kit, often the case with original or very old carbs, a replacement is also available at C&G as 59A-9510-N. From your colorful description, I suspect that you may wish to go there. Most old carbs have warped bodies and other problems that defy repair with a kit alone.

That's why you send the carb to Charlie Schwendler (charlieNY)!
He repairs all the problems that exists in any particular carb. When it comes back, it is better than new and that includes "new" reproductions.
I'm speaking from experience as he has done two of mine and they ran perfectly right out of the box.

Re: 1941 Merc Carb Kit wanted/needed

my dumb dirtyword Carb is just leaking a little, operates like it should, but I have never been comfortable with any dirtyword type of gas leakage. so I think it just needs a rebuild.... FYI, it is apparently not the original carb, as it has a sticker from "national" on it along with their 800 number, which I did call but no joy. they wanted me to bring my carb down to them (85mis) and then they could "possibly" fix up a kit (what I wuz told). thanks again. stay safe

grouch,
91-99 is the correct carb for your Merc. Give the carb a good look over to determine where the leak is coming from. Please keep me in mind if the kit doesn't do it.
Since you are in Fla think about calling DAYTONA PARTS for a kit. 386 427 7108.
Thanks,
Charlie ny
