The Great Race
 

The Great Race starts this weekend at 8:30 AM on Saturday in Jacksonville Florida with the Main street cruise in starting at 4 PM. Last time it came through Jacksonville it made for a great show.

A friend of mine is participating in the race but he's not driving a Flathead powered vehicle. Lawson, google the Great American Race, it'll give you the route with all the stops.

Lawson: Great Race will lunch break around noon on Sunday, March 25th - Main Street downtown Newnan, then up U.S. 27 to Chattanooga for overnight at Coker Tire. Pretty close to You in Carrollton. Jim...

But Newnan is not on the org Dixie Hwy.It goes through Forest Park Ga.

The great race will make a pit stop in Rome Ga but it is about 25 miles off the Dixie Hwy . One of the participants lives in the outskirts of Rome and they will stop at his farm and workshop around 3:15 Sunday June 25 . Wayne Vick who is driving a 1935 Ford , I hope to see the cars then .

A group of locals are going to park along the route coming into Newnan, the city will shut down the south court square area for race vehicles. This was in the local paper this morning. I think we will have a large number of interested spectators.
