Thought I would share a video I did yesterday

Thought I would take my love of my 53' Merc to the next level. I bought a GoPro 3+Black on e-bay for less than $100, and it came with a ton of attachments. For quite a while now, when I am doing a project that I eventually post here, the still pictures don't really do it justice, so I would like to add a video clip, to help show how something works.

This is just me getting used to the camera. No music, as many in the past have said, the true music is the sound of the engine. I think I have to agree.

That's real cool! Beats the heck out of what I've been able to do with my old Canon camera. Less than $100? I gotta look into one of those.:)

The sound alone is worth the dough. Very nice car.

Very nice sound and video. And yes, that flathead exhaust is all the music required.

I'm really impressed by the image quality and the audio quality particularly the lack of wind buffeting noise. When I mounted my sony camera like that on my T Bird the wind noise made the whole thing unwatchable.

Enjoyable little ride out, thanks for posting it.

And the trick is a "dead cat" (not a real one - you can get them at Joanns Fabric store, for about $2.50, they are called Poms) over the mic and a suction cup half way down the back of the trunk to clip the mic on to. The camera rig is made out of harbor freight suction cups and PVC pipe.

I chose the GoPro 3+ Black since it was the best for that year and had an outlet for an external microphone. If you buy a new one it is over $500 and all you get is the camera. E-bay you get the camera and allot of the accessories too, since many of the listings are a package deal. The accessories are outrageous if you buy GoPro.

Originally I was using my Nikon coolpix S8100. It worked but now well, I couldn't figure a way to suppress the wind noise.

Thanks for the ride, that Merc handled the twisties pretty well. Reminds me of when I was a kid riding in the back of my Dads 53 Merc 2dr sedan.

Thanks, felt like I was riding in back seat with no wind blowing.
