Re: Eye candy at Sema 1930 Model A ??????? hmmm

Re: Eye candy at Sema Dang, that finish on the engine and components looks nice

Re: Eye candy at Sema Yep, Model A!Looks like the A pillars have been modified, 32 window added, and a cowl vent added.
I've seen this done before, really changes the look of a model A. But if your going through all that trouble, why not find a 32? |
Re: Eye candy at Sema "But if your going through all that trouble, why not find a 32?"
Cost, scarcity of '32 bodies, challenge, are three things I could think of off the top. |
Re: Eye candy at Sema 1930 Model A ??????? Yeah that's what I thought, doesn't look like mine.

Re: Eye candy at Sema I love Arduns (who doesn't) and that looks like a really nicely done car . . . but that air cleaner sticks out and I don't like it one bit. It takes my focus off the Ardun valve covers - which is where it belongs! LOL

Foose's '32 Ford (personal car) was there to drool over also ! |
Re: Eye candy at Sema This....yes, 1930 Model A Ford.... Was a 2017 Riddler Award finalist this year at the Detroit Autorama. The Riddler Award celebrates one never-before-seen show car -- seriously, even publishing renderings of the car before the show will get you disqualified -- with an emphasis on a unique and creative concept, clever engineering and refined execution.
The car is called "After Thought," a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe, owners Ted and Colleen Hubbard, South Bend, Nebraska Read more: http://autoweek.com/article/car-life...#ixzz4xJDglyKS http://hanabi.autoweek.com/sites/def...c/p1240193.jpg http://hanabi.autoweek.com/sites/def...c/p1240199.jpg http://hanabi.autoweek.com/sites/def...c/p1240202.jpg http://hanabi.autoweek.com/sites/def...c/p1240212.jpg |
Re: Eye candy at Sema The color scheme of the car is described as art deco and the fins you see used all over the car were inspired by an exhaust manifold Cal Auto Creations owner Andy Leech spotted over two years ago.

Re: Eye candy at Sema It is an awesome car - can't imagine the cubic dollars spent on it. The owner obviously had an idea/motif to carry throughout the car (the consistent part I understand). So, while I obviously have an opinion - it is not my car and I didn't write the checks!
With all that said - sometimes I can't help myself when I see a concept that just seems to be taken a bit far. Maybe that is just me . . . it is just one man's opinion. When you create a show car (especially one worthy of Ridler competition), you are inviting the world to review, ponder, critique and ultimately judge - that is what you sign up for. But - my comments aside . . . it is definitely one piece of fine rolling art . . . |
Re: Eye candy at Sema Is it just me or does it look like the top of the doors are sitting too low and don't really align with the screen? Looks like the screen is sitting too high or maybe it's the changes to the A pillars that is causing this optical illusion??
Really neat show car but just not what I'm into and I'm glad we don't see too much of it here on the 'Barn. Although I'll be happy to take the Ardun. -- |
Re: Eye candy at Sema Holy shit ... there is a god!

Re: Eye candy at Sema I for one do not see how this car is so impressive, really doesn't turn my crank. No doubt the execution is top notch but there is just too much of a jewelry look to it.

I wonder, does anyone have a reference to that color's name? Likely a custom blend. |
Re: Eye candy at Sema That engine is amazing. The fit and finish of this ride is outstanding
