Model T dash color ans dash light

I recently purchased a 27 model T roadster. In the process of adding a speedometer to the dash and I have been told that the dash should be painted black like the fenders. It is currently painted the same color as the body. The question is what color should the dash be painted? The dash also has a dash light mounting hole for a dash light. However, the dash light that Langs has is not the correct light fixture. Does anybody know what light fixture goes in there and a vendor who might carry it. It would also help if somebody has a picture of it. The mounting hole has a 1.5" hole with two smaller hole at 90 and 270 degrees for mounting screws.

I would get the darn thing safely running and in good working order, use the MTFCA's safety check and then find the local club in your area and seek out your questions from a good known T guru. Those fellas are out there and will'in to help.

The dash's I have seen are black, that light might be found @ a swap meet or the dreaded ebay:eek:

The dash is to be body color. The under cowl gas tank is black.

Factory original dash lamps have to be found on line, eBay or Model T facebook, or at swaps. They were new in either black raven finish, or nickel plate depending on applications.
