Temp Probe Pipe Leak It appears I have a pin hole leak around the welded area of my stainless temperature probe pipe on the top radiator hose. If I was to apply some JB weld or JB water weld around the area do you think that would seal the leak or would I be better off removing and taking it to a friend who can weld?

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak send it back !!!

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak That is certainly an option but would like to see if there is a quick and lasting fix.

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak I would think that solder , JB weld or a good stop leak would stop the leak . The thing is if it started leaking again later , you would probably wish that you had sent it back for a replacement . I have had good luck with the probe pipes that I have used

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak Ask the supplier to send you a replacement and then you send the defective one back.

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak If the part is new (just installed) SEND IT BACK. If the supplier won't take it back, give us their name. The only way the suppliers will stop selling low quality parts is if enough people return them. The problem is not with the manufacturers in foreign countries. The problem is with the suppliers in this country failing to provide adequate specifications and inspection and then rejecting the parts that don't meet the specifications. The parts will cost more but it will be less expensive in the long run to not have to deal with poorly made parts. How about a picture?

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak It is new so I will be calling the vendor Mikes A-Fordable for an exchange. They are nice folks to deal with and I don’t anticipate any issues.

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak 2 Attachment(s)
Yes-hopefully I will have a replacement in less than a week. I was disapointed for I had the radiator out for repair and finally had time to get everything buttoned-up only to have this silly leak. Oh well-better to discover it in my garage vice on the road. I attached a couple of photos. It appears not to have a very good bead on the inside of the pipe around the boss.

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak Pretty sloppy weld on the outside too.

Re: Temp Probe Pipe Leak What is inside at the weld joint is called sugar. It is caused because they didn't back flow argon into the pipe before welding. They saved a few pennies in time to risk a leak.
