Re: 1934 pickup horn : Who repairs these Sparton hornss Corrosion of internals and mountings are the biggest killers of horns. If the parts are all intact with little or no corrosion then it would likely only need careful cleaning of the vibrator points. If the vibrator coil goes bad, they can generally be rewound as long as the same gauge wire with the same number of turns is utilized. These things were factory set to pull a set amount of amperage so be careful with adjustments unless you know what the OEM specs are. There are likely several shops out there that can rebuild horn vibrators. A search of the early V8 club magazine or Hemmings should bring up a few.

Re: 1934 pickup horn : Who repairs these Sparton hornss Just touch up the contacts with a points file or a strip of doubled over wet and dry paper, not emery and clean off residue with contact cleaner pressure spray can. DONT MESS WITH ANY OF THE ADJUSTMENTS. Most likely a new condenser will be required. Condenser is .2 mfd, 400 volts. Regards, Kevin.
