Easy fix; cut the old one out and weld in a replacement. Clings list replacement tubes; on the other hand they are simple to make out hydraulic tubing.

Re: emergency brake tube

I've done two sets of rear '39-'48 backing plates with E brake tubes that I made from a section of 1/2" diameter steel tubing. This was about 10 years ago, so I have forgotten some of the details. I can remember forming the new tubes to be as close as possible to an original tube mounted in a backing plate that happened to be in very good condition. After forming them, I brazed them back in place on backing plates. Worked well for me.

I also recall that someone had posted on this forum where these tubes were being reproduced by a well known early Ford V8 parts supplier.

I asked the same question on this forum last year. got great answers. 1/2" tubing formed with tubing bender and flatten 1/2" lock washer and weld on outside end of tube to hold rubber boot.weld or braze onto backing plate. hard part is removing old tube.

You can purchase 3' lengths of the exact diameter and wall thickness tubing from McMaster Carr.

In case you don't want to fab them, Drake lists them also.
