Re: emergency brake tube Easy fix; cut the old one out and weld in a replacement. Clings list replacement tubes; on the other hand they are simple to make out hydraulic tubing.

Re: emergency brake tube I've done two sets of rear '39-'48 backing plates with E brake tubes that I made from a section of 1/2" diameter steel tubing. This was about 10 years ago, so I have forgotten some of the details. I can remember forming the new tubes to be as close as possible to an original tube mounted in a backing plate that happened to be in very good condition. After forming them, I brazed them back in place on backing plates. Worked well for me.
I also recall that someone had posted on this forum where these tubes were being reproduced by a well known early Ford V8 parts supplier. |
Re: emergency brake tube I asked the same question on this forum last year. got great answers. 1/2" tubing formed with tubing bender and flatten 1/2" lock washer and weld on outside end of tube to hold rubber boot.weld or braze onto backing plate. hard part is removing old tube.
