Old car festival

Just curious if any of you guys are going to the Old Car Festival in Dearborn. It's the weekend after Labor Day and it is a must see event. I went last year and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. Ron

A group of us are coming from Vancouver - 17 at latest count. We're staying at the Best Western Greenfield Inn. Hope to see others there also.

We'll be staying at the same motel. We stayed there last year and it was a very nice place. If you not been to this before you'll have the most fun imaginable. Have a safe trip and hopefully we'll meet. Ron

This is a great show. I have been going the last 4 years with my uncle and his 29 Phaeton. Saturday is the best day to go They have old car games in the baseball field such as slow races, drags, water races ect., Pass in reviews, and at night they have the gas light tour. All the cars in the show cruise the village at night (they can also cruise during the day as well) then to cap off the night they have a huge fireworks show. It gets so busy on the roads there I have seen some traffic jams! its a must to see and hear. Sunday they also have more car games and pass in reviews and they also do the awards presentation in front of the pass and review stand where the 1st-3rd place cars are introduced and driven up to accept their awards. I have enjoyed going so much as a visitor I now want a car of my own to show in this show.

I went last year and I think you can bring in your lawn chairs. I also remember there are plenty of benches. Sit for a while and move on. Take your chairs and leave them in the car. We went early last year and parked near the entrance , so it's a short walk back to your car. You can always ask at the main gate and go back to get them. Take a rain jacket, it rained last year! Have fun!! Ron

Well the show is this weekend. Setup is this evening. Who is going? I know the weather reports are changing every minute from 20%-50% chance of rain Saturday and 10%-30% on Sunday but I am def going Saturday and maybe Sunday if I get all my little projects done around the house.

Another great show. The car count was a little light due to the rain on Friday and most of Saturday but Saturday evening cleared up nicely and the gas light parade was a blast with the larger route they made this year inside the village. On Sunday my uncle found out he took 1st place again in his 28-29 class.
