1937 ford jack
 

Hey guys,

Can anyone show me exactly what the original 37 ford car jack looks like? I understand a late model scissor jack will do a much better job (and wont leak) but this is just to kit the car out with everything original that i can. As a side note, is anyone making a replica tool kit and roll?

I only just had a look in my V8 book and saw the exact type (only on much less detail). Thanks for that.

Dameon, I know you understand, but for those who don't have a clue, NEVER use a bumper jack. They are dangerous as hell for one, and if that doesn't scare the pee out of you, they can and will easily damage your Ford!

50yrs ago I probably had one of those in a 37 Ford, but I would have put it aside as next to useless, not enough room in the trunk to transport junk around.

I may still have it but if I do it will be yards deep in my junk collection.

I suspect that is what has happened to most of them.

On the tools question, check with Lin Stacey, he is the tool guru of the Early Ford V8 club. His contact information is published in the back of any issue of the Early V8 Times.

Well, some are and some are not.
The Ford script bag was issued many years later so that's certainly not correct.
The jack is 1946 and is actually kinda rare.

Pete, your suspicion is correct. the jack is 1946. The Ford script bag was introduced in mid 1940 production.

Lin sold me this jack as a 1937 piece some time after Dearborn last year.

To be honest, I only opened the box once, to verify that there was a jack and stand in there. I never did check the piece against the photos or drawings. So that part is on me. We all make mistakes. I'll get back to Lin. Thanks.

If Lin (spelled L I N) sold it to you there was a mistake made. Highly unlike Lin as he is one sharp "tool".
