56 fender apron retainer

May have asked this before. Does anyone know where you can find the fender apron retainer. Looked everywhere and even tried the t-bird ones but they are off too much. Part number 16050. Thanks

Looked thru their catalog and looks like they have clips and molding. Only fender parts I found were for the 60s mopar products.

I do not see Basic Part Number 16050 in the MPC TEXT lineup.

Do you see the BPN of what you are looking for in the below ILL?

16050 is there, it's black starred (not serviced) in the illustration at the time that pub was printed so won't be in the text section. It looks more like a retainer PANEL, not just a clip.

I stand corrected. Short eyeballs ... :o

Only having FINAL EDITION limits particulars.

THANX for bringing that to light ...

Actually bought a set of the t-bird ones. While they are close the dimple is offset about 3 inches so that it does not line up right. May have to get some sheet steel and bugger up something.

As far as I know, the usual repro parts supplier outfits don't offer the metal splash-shield retainer panels for 55/56 full-size cars, but they do sell the rubber splash shields behind the metal panel. I believe they also sell the 3/8" hex-head lag screws for attaching the metal retainer panels to the fender apron, but they are NOT exact duplicate of originals.

Early 55-57 Thirds use a similar piece. I don't know if it's the same or different. It's reproduced. Both sides the same. Called Metal Retainer for Apron Seal.

Might want to check with Concour's Parts as they sell both Tbird and sedan parts.

Well, we tried. Without an early MPC that showed the 16050 PN, it is difficult to determine much of anything.

They are different. Same dimensions but the dimple is offset so it does not line up correct. I guess I could grind off the dimple and adjust it to fit.
