Unknown parts from 1930 Cabriolet or not...

1 Attachment(s)
Found in a bucket from the people who dismantled my 1930 car who seemed to have problems sorting out what was taken off from where or even if it was from my car.

I do not even know if this is from a Model A, but it is a strong metal plate and long bolts so if anyone knows what it is let me know as it seems important for something.

Thanks,

Kim

That has the shape of a door hinge backing plate. I am not familiar with the cabriolet body structure, so not sure if that is correct, but it may fit behind the wood pillar to where the door hinge attaches.

Not sure of your deminsions but there is a plate on top of the header that the folding irons attach to/they the wooden header
If the bolt pattern is same as front of the folding iron, could be. It is a three-bolt pattern

I believe the metal plates go on the wooden header on the opposite side of the front of the folding irons . If you have the folding irons match the metal plates and screws with the holes in the top irons . Norm

Thank You all. That was a big help.

Things would be WORSE, if the bucket had a BIG hole in it.

So for Cabriolet owners in judging. Should I paint this plate upper body color (Seal Brown) in my case, but since it has screws through the top irons should they be nickel plated?

Thanks,
Kim

just put some protection on the nut plates like a good bear metal primer. when the top material is installed you will never see them again until you remove the top material.

JW,

Thanks so much.

Do the bolt heads still show when mounting the brackets? I can see the other side is covered but should I nickel plate the bolt heads?

Thanks again.

The slotted flat head screws show when the top is down. Yes, or use stainless

Bill is right on. I use polished stainless.
