Ford Exposition: 1939

Photo taken on May 12, 1939. This is the Ford Motor Building at the New York World's Fair. Note the stainless sculpture of a V8-weilding Mercury. Glorious.

GM ,you must be old, I don't think I was even thought of then ,LOL.
My father was already in the NZ airforce and at war by then.

The sculpture is wielding V8 and V12. Very cool.

I was 6 years old. About the only things that stick in my mind are. The doorman at the hotel with his red jacket and brass buttons. The Heinz pickle display and the little pickle lapel pin I received. A little tin key given to everyone that visited some display that was supposed to open a big box that looked like a treasure chest but mine didn't open it. I must be getting old, that's all I remember. G.M.
