I bought this 21 bolt, water pump in block(covered) Heads are numbered as for domed pistons Block has the pictured markings. There is a sticker on the head from a ford approved rebuilder. What year is this block ?

Think it would be very difficult to tell with the information you have posted. Keep in mind that external parts are easily swapped around.

Re: engine identification

I was hoping the block could be furthur identified by the photo of the block stampings I posted but expect that recast blocks had many different than original Ford stamps. It should have domed pistons but will have to remove the heads to be sure.

Re: engine identification

21 stud pump in block engines were exclusive to '37 & '38 cars and trucks, but continued to be produced for service replacement and stationary industrial engines. I have no idea how long they continued to be made.

Re: engine identification

They were manufactured long time in Canada and the UK. Both before and after the war. Ford casting numbers/letters of the era are largely a mystery about what they represent.
