V8-60 Isky Mushroom Lifters

A set of Isky Mushroom Lifters for the 60hp to use a Isky 620BS Cam.

What would a set of Mushroom cost/worth?

Lifter bores are already undercut for them.

Unless you were lucky enough to find an original set, you would have to make them and that would likely be in the $1500 area.

That wasn't a very good performing cam. It only lifts .315.

Racing requires alot of pieces parts and people. The cam is only one of them.

620BS was actually for Hydroplanes and dad would spin them 7600+ rpm.
The 620B is more of a Midget Cam, more torque.
There was also a 620-03 and 620.
The 404jr was the wildest of all the 60 cams. That cam blew up a lot of engines

Ol Ron that is a UNDERSTATEMENT!
Guys think the parts should cost the same or less than big flathead parts.

I have been hunting for an Aluminum V860 Cam Gear for 2yrs. I have a STEEL 1 but want an Aluminum 1.

If you have a mill, it is no big deal to make one. Spur gears are more efficient anyway.
Another possibility is, see if Dan McEachern will make you one.

They are around but very scarce. I just happened to come across one when I bought a 60hp hydroplane engine along with lots of NOS internal engine rebuilding components. Also, amongst those parts was a chain coupler that connects to front of crankshaft that for driving the screw shaft. Scott Courts wanted to buy for his hydroplane project, but we could not agree on a price, so it's still sitting on a shelf collecting dust.

Ford did not make an aluminum cam timing gear for the 60HP, but don't give up since there were a lot of other manufactures of the gears. Contact Fred at Southside obsolete he has shelfs of cam gears.

Ford did make an aluminum timing gear for the V8 60. I have 3 NOS, one, in the box. Please check page 93 of the late great Rich Willams book The V8-60 Fords Little Powerhouse. Ray.
