1933/1934 dashes i would like to run a 33 DASH IN A 34 FORD. The reason is I want to use Stewart Warner Winged Gages. I have a perfect non molested Original 34 Dash. No Gages!. I do not want to modify a perfect 34 Dash, plus the work involved. Question is are the 33/34 Dashes the same as far as mounting and Column drop?. I think I might try to trade my 34 Dash for a like condition 33. I would not need the Gages or Engine turned panel. I have a 33 Bezel and will Engine turn a new panel for my gages. Thanks. Stan

Re: 1933/1934 dashes Less known is the fact that early '34 dashes were actually carry-over '33s without a built-in instrument panel. A special panel equal in size to the surrounding raised area of a common '34 panel was used for the instruments and unless you look close you do not perceive that there are two separate components. Those special early '34 instrument panels are fairly rare. A NOS one sold recently on ebay.

This is the Dash in my early 1934 Ford Phaeton. It is the one that David mentioned was fitted to very early 1934 Fords. As you can see, the panel that the instruments are mounted in is a separate piece, unlike the later 1934 Fords where this panel was molded in. |

By comparison, this is the normal dash as fitted to 1934 Fords where the panel which houses the instruments is part of the Dash, not a pressed in panel like the very early 1934 Fords. |

This is the badge on Australian 1933-1934 Fords. It reads "British Empire Products" |
