tires

when I was at Turlock, there a guy selling European made Good Year tires. they are about half the price as the US made. I know they will not cut it for fine point. but they might be OK for a driver. has anyone tried these tires.

I'd do as you are before I bought those tyres - let some one else find out if they're any good. A few years back, no one could buy a decent tube - remember? The worst of those were made in the EEC using recycled materials. Once bitten............
On the other hand, just because it is made outside the US dosn't mean it's bad. Look who invented the car in the first place - and the radial tyre etc etc.
I'll follow this thread.

Re: tires

They are probably made at the Sava factory in Slovenia.
Their 4wd tires survive the outback just fine.

Synchro, are today's inner tubes quite a bit better than say 10-15 years ago?? Bratton's advertises freshly made tubes with fresh materials. Are these trustworthy??

Signed, nervous to buy new inner tubes hanging onto the old:eek:

The Goodyear tires on my 2014 f-150 are made in Chile. Work fine with 60000 on them

I've run a few tubes that were made after Brattons started making theirs from new materials. I think others HAD to do the same or be left behind. I had to but others becasuse Brattons won't sell to Australiabut I've had good results. If you are nervous, dip your toe in the water by buying one or two as a trial.

If they withstand those conditions, they are pretty good.

I went through the process of getting new tubes in August of 2017 and ended up getting tubes from Bert’s Model A. Other vendors tubes had the valve stem off center and I did not want to use them.

see attached photo of tube with off center valve stem, same tube rotated 180 degrees to show offset. The third photo is the tubes I finally purchased note the on center valve stem.
