Horn Button

Finally got around to installing the horn on my grandfather's 1930 roadster. Everything seemed to be working properly, then I turned on the parking lights and during the transition from the off position to the parking light position, the horn blew. I thought nothing of it as once the parking lights were on, the horn didn't sound. I then continued to see if this occurred when turning on the headlights and it didn't. It was then time to put the car back in the barn and as I turned the steering wheel, the horn sounded. It would continue to sound while I had pressure on the steering but when I let go of the wheel and relieved pressure, the horn would stop. What steps should I take to resolve this issue?

Re: Horn Button

Had the same problem w/ my 31 & found the lower end of the horn wire w/ the contact that extends out the bottom was grounding out on its enclosure.
I pulled the contact as far forward as possible & popped an O ring over & on the back side of the round contact to insulate the wire from grounding .
A picture would make this much less difficult to interpret but since this area is such a PIA to access , I don't think I'll get to it .
Good luck

This can also be caused by a bent light rod, or one of incorrect length.
