Thinking about selling

5 Attachment(s)
I am thinking about selling my 37 Cabriolet. The history on this car is undocumented but I was told it was in a private collection and not driven for years. It is an old restoration. 70s most likely. The floor pans have been replaced before they made replacement pans so it is flat sheet. The body is painted with lacquer paint that is now very old and showing some checking. The wood graining on the dash is old and checked. Has the 37 21 stud engine. drivetrain is all stock and very solid. always starts right up and drives well. It has a dropped axle and reversed springs along with hydraulic brakes. Overall the car is nice and has won a couple awards at local shows. I have an idea of what to ask for it but wanted some input from the guys who really know these cars. Thank you in advance for your opinion on this. It is a tough decision for me but I just don`t use the car enough these days.Attachment 393055

$20 to $25K. Here's another for sale. I have had folks smarter than me say that the market for these "stock" old Fords is fading away and prices dropping as the older folks "move on" and the younger folks desire cars with all the creature comforts that can dependaly be driven at 75 mph all day long.

The landscape in that ad doesn't look like Georgia. I would be suspicious considering the price.

That looks like the same background I saw a 36 Tudor sedan for sale last year.

Looks like a nice car. Pity that it is so far away from my home.

Re: Thinking about selling

Well... The car is.. Staying!! I got it out and detailed it. Took it for a spin and found myself driving along, listening to it`s familiar sound and feeling the nostalgic feel of it`s history and presence. Came home and told the wife we are keeping the old girl and selling the dog. She told me she never was keen on the idea of selling anyway but that is her dog and I have no say in that matter. So... Here we are with an old car and an old dog. Neither one is good for much other than they make us feel good. At our age we are realizing it is those things that are most important.

Funny story and sounds like a great resolution!

Keep it and drive it until you can't drive anymore. Then sell it. Your cabriolet I much more desirable than the club cabriolet. Nothing wrong with keeping the dog too.

Re: Thinking about selling

Go back and re-read your original post. I'll bet it will become obvious to you that you really didn't want to sell it. Good decision.
