1930 Cabriolet running board trim I have single piece side splash guards and unfinished running boards bases.
These need to have the rubber mat glued and some zinc trim. What most places say is they do not have trim for "original boards" yet mine are one solid piece and it seems some trim should be available? Thanks for your advice of where to get the closest to original trim as available. |
Re: 1930 Cabriolet running board trim Bob Burdick Phone 949-310-4088 . Bob has excellent trim that should be what you want . I have bought 2 sets and am more that satisfied . Norm

Make sure you get a couple sets of horn flange bolts to install the inner piece.

Re: 1930 Cabriolet running board trim Thanks. Do I get the standard horn flange bolts like at Snyder's. Do they go under the back trim piece and the rubber fits inside still?
I assume that I have to remove the splash guards to do this like the picture shows? And those look really good! |
Re: 1930 Cabriolet running board trim The way I did it was to trim the diamond pattern to be straight with the outside edge. Then trim the inside so that the inside trim piece goes under the raised lip of the trim. There was a bit of time dry fitting everything before gluing the matting down. Then install inside first, then outside, then the short front and back piece gets riveted to the running board lip. The worst part is fitting the outside trim and crimping it over. I used a fabric cutter and a straight edge to do the cutting.
