Re: Auto advance dissy Derek,
I have run a FS 12v auto advance dizzy for about 4 years. The early ones were a little sensitive to burn out if the ignition is left on with the engine not running but I believe that has been rectified. The only ignition trouble I have had since installation is a failed coil and a dizzy body that broke down and allowed the dreaded #3, #4 crossfire. Neither could be blamed on the distributor. BTW, I carry a rebuilt and timed original dizzy under the seat just in case. I've not needed it in about 30,000 miles. Another option might be Bubbas (he posts here). It will be interesting to see what others have to say. |
Re: Auto advance dissy I have the FS Zipper on my engine. Looks original. Works great.

Re: Auto advance dissy I put a simple, single point Mallory Distributor in Minerva, it was such a PLEASURE to drive with it.

Re: Auto advance dissy I just put on a Mallory points distributor from Bubba. Have not driven it much, but it is a nice unit. I prefer points to electronic, but an FS would be my second choice.

Re: Auto advance dissy The FSI has worked flawlessly. Can modify the advance curve too if you want to get into really playing around.
