Nobody here has any idea? I thought I could get a better idea here than elsewhere. Saw some that looked like them for $250-$300 seemed pretty high but what do I know

Are you selling, or buying.
In the 1st case it is $1
In the second $1000

I guess this is the wrong place to ask.

Re: T wheels

Those are referred to as Split Rims. They were used from late 1925 until the end of Model T production in 1927. They were used with the 21" tires.

Good ones, like a lot of parts, are getting hard to find. Try to find a good one that isn't rusty, has a more or less smooth tire mounting surface and has the latch or screw assembly which holds the split part together and wheel lugs that are not worn out or ovaled.

These were reproduced at some point and I think were about 150.00 from memory. I am not sure if they are still available.

I think a good original rim is easily worth 100.00-150.00 if you need one and you can find one. Try the Model T Ford Club of America forum at www.mtfca.com

A good swap meet that has a decent amount of prewar parts will usually yield some of these for sale. Prices at swap meets are typically cheaper than online and you won't have to pay for shipping. But, if you need one now and there are no swap meets around you, start searching online.

Model T Haven is a good source for parts. Give Mark a call, he probably has one in stock. https://www.modelthaven.com/

Lang's Old Car Parts might have some as well, as they have a good inventory of used parts which are not listed in their online catalog. You probably should call for best results. https://www.modeltford.com/

Hope this helps.

Re: T wheels

Seems that is only active topic about the wheels, so I have additional question.
On my 1922 model I had rear wheel bolts failure, what took my parking brake shoes on the way home.
I fixed that, but I see other 3 wheels having some play on clamping hubs.
That might be triggered by dry weather in Las Vegas, but how crucial is it to keep good torque?
Front is easy to tighten, but I had heck of the time removing rear wheel from the axle.

Re: T wheels

Loose spokes, at hub or fellow are recipes for collapsed wheels. Hub bolts need to be tight, there is no torque. When installing hub bolts, after the nut is tight, bolt need to be peened or staked to keep the nut from coming off.

There is a set of Early Model T Wheels; 4 Wooden Spokd Wheels, on EBAY, on auction for $150. There is one bidder and 20 watchers. I would bid at least $100 per wheel, at least.

Do you have a link? I searched right and left and could not find it.

Re: T wheels

The wheels were sold for $265, I think. I was shocked. I would have supported the $100-$150 per wheel theory.
