Very sorry to inform you all about Steve Ryan 1 Attachment(s)
We truly lost another great person today........It is with great sadness that the Lehigh Valley Model A Club announces the passing of longtime member and Model A enthusiast, Steve Ryan. He passed away earlier today after a long battle with cancer. Arrangements and services will be posted when they become available.
Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. I will pass that information along as soon as I receive it via email. I ask that you respect the family’s privacy during this time of grief. Please keep Sue and the rest of the family in your prayers during this difficult time....(Lehigh Valley Model A Club) |

Re: Very sorry to inform you all about Steve Ryan Sorry to hear the sad news. I have known Steve for a number of years, he was a great guy and a friend to all Model Aers. I had the pleasure of serving with Steve on the MARC BOD for 3 years. Steve will be greatly missed.

Re: Very sorry to inform you all about Steve Ryan Very sad indeed . I first met him in 1993 when I was visiting with Peter Noyes in Mertztown PA . My son and I had a guided tour of his restorations a first class master .At the time I was restoring a 1930 roadster body where the top behind the door openings had been cut out to fit a tuck and roll seat . Steve went out of his way for me to call at Rootlieb to pick up the top side pieces left over after fender wells had been removed from the "blem" pile . He would accept no payment . Some years later I heard he was restoring a A400 .I asked him if he had the ash trays which he did not . By a lucky chance I did have a pair and mailed them too him,I would have never ever needed them here in England .He saved my body and his car was complete so all ended very well. Condolences extended from this side .

Steve was always a 'giver' and not a 'receiver'. Probably my fondest memory of Steve was at the first French Lick MARC meet when we were on the Fine-point mandatory tour, --which was a trip up to the golf course and back down that steep grade. Steve took it upon himself to stand at the bottom of the hill and stop cross-traffic (-which had the right-of-way) as Model-A's with misadjusted brakes came sailing off the hill. He just smiled as the Model-As came by trying to dodge them. I remember stopping at the stop sign to thank him and he jokingly told me to thank him later because there was someone flying down the hill behind me that probably wasn't gonna be able to stop. We both chuckled about that later that although I stopped like I was supposed to, I was in a bad location.
Below are a few pics of Steve assisting others. The first two are of the F/P participants at that year's meet; https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1540816989 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1540816989 This is a picture where we were receiving instructions on how to push our vehicles out to exit the building. That is me in the light blue shirt and my son behind me in the black shirt. Steve is just beyond me in the dark blue shirt pointing to the exit. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1540816989 Steve assisting us as we exit the building and staging us for the Mandatory Tour. Again, he was always assisting someone else. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1540816989 . . . . |
