How long did Ford hold on a body before assembly???

Diligently working on my resto....tons of things making it crazy to fully figure out what is absolutely correct

Numbers matching chassis...comes out as a Oct 1929 stamping. Someone I emailed with said based on the rouge logs, the engine was stamped on October 16th, 1929

Going through the Judging standards (JS), there are a few things (such as brake levers) that suggest chassis assembly very early in 1930. Book did say final assembly could be up to 3 months after engine stamping.

Body appears to have original electric wiper. The JS book says Tudors transitioned from electric wipers to vacuum ~Aug/Sep 1929

Although repainted some aweful blue during its live, the original paint was Bonnie Gray/Chelsea blue (located under carpet, in kick panels, behind spare tire carrier, etc) . JS says this color combo was used through April 1929.

I know the "year" of the car is based on the engine/frame stamp, but could an earlier body been mated to it? How long would Ford have stored a body prior to assembly to a chassis?

Thanks :D

I don't think bodies, chassis or engines hung around very long in"29. It was the Model A's biggest sales year and the factories were going full speed. Almost 2 million cars in '29. Any body assembly plant markings?

Body stamp was hard to read and doesn't seem to match known combinations...

Despite what you may have read, Ford rarely, "used up parts" on passenger cars. Can you imagine the havoc having different parts showing up at different times on the line.

I know on my car the Body production date is Oct 28 but the chassis (engine#) is April 29. I think being a Sport Coupe the body may have been shipped from the US. There was a mix of Slot head screws and robertson screws in the body and there was only 1600 made in Canada in 28.
