Geeze, I guess first Q should be...am I allowed to be here with this Q?
If not, let me know, thanks.
If so my Q is regarding '32 car frame and what recommended changes, if any, must be made to put my '30 roadster body onto such frame :confused:?

The Hamb is the correct and proper place for this question because there's many there that have done it.
The best way is to pinch (narrow)the frame in the cowl area to match the body width, in fact repo 32 frames can be bought with this already done. However, most old time hot rods never bothered with this, so it depends what you're aiming for.
The other problem is the gap that occurs between the body and frame. Some folks channel the body a little until the gap disappears, others make a filler to sit on top of the frame.

Thanks for your input/thoughts! I haven't got the '32 frame yet and wanted to make an AV8..without any knowledge/experience, don't know whether to start with A frame/'32 frame or as you mentioned repo:(!

You can put a 30 on a 32 frame, go to www.wescotts.com, the gentleman has the dimensions for the 32 and the use of a 32 frame under a 30.

When you register on the HAMB, use the search function to find threads about A on Deuce frames. There have been many photo how-to's over the years.

Mike Bishop & Vern Tardels book "How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod" is the cats meow for someone that wants to read about the ways the little hot rods were built back in the day. It includes a little bit of information on the A on duece frame but is mostly about As on A frames. Still a good read to gain knowledge about a lot of the other bits and pieces to look for.

At the cowl you can treat the 30/31 diferently to the earlier ones. Don't need to massage the chassis there.

Clarification. An AV8 is an A on an A frame with a flathead V8.
When I said "what you're aiming for", I was meaning what style of rod? Street rod, traditional 50s or 60s style rod, jalopy..... because this will influence how you treat this problem. There is little point going into detail here when it's all been documented very thoroughly on the Hamb. The search function is your friend over there.

Look at Mart's site...this is a complete build up of a 1930/32 roadster from parts that could have been classified as closer to garbage than scrap at the start!

Also after Market frames can be bought that are flat across the top part of the frame so they fit the Model A W/O having a filler piece or a gap.

You can leave the cowl area alone but I think you may want to pull the rails in at the rear a little so they will slip up into the big hole you are gonna have to cut in the floor of your roadster. :) I did this with a '30 tudor and we used a stock dimension '32 frame, it worked out great but I think the tudor is wider from the doors back than a roadster.
