1932 Horn Rod Can a horn rod be removed/installed in a stock 32 5W without unbolting the steering box ? I'm not sure if there is enough room...

Re: 1932 Horn Rod Yes, it can be removed by pulling out the C-shaped clip that retains it at the bottom. A wood or plastic yard stick wedged over the horn button and under the sides of the steering wheel works wonders in keeping the spring at the bottom compressed so that you can access the clip. Unless your car is a roadster, phaeton, cabriolet or convertible sedan where you can lower the top, you will need to loosen the three bolts attaching the sector gear housing to the chassis frame rail and unfasten the steering column from the dash to lower the whole column. Otherwise, you'll likely irrevocably bend the horn rod removing it.

Re: 1932 Horn Rod If you have a closed car with a roof that needs to be replaced this might be the time to do it.

Re: 1932 Horn Rod I have a 5W that is ready to go back onto it's chassis that doesn't have it's steering wheel or horn rod installed yet.
