31 Victoria Bumper Arms

Does anyone remember what the bolt specs are for the front most mounting point, bumper arm to frame? It is a single bolt? Length, dia. and thread type? The previous owner omitted it! Thank you, Ed

There are 2 bolts per side that hold the bumper bracket to the frame. The attached picture showed the two special bolts that also holds the Radiator splash apron. They are correct for a 30-31 vehicle. The short one is for the front.

from the Restoration Guidelines
With the introduction of the 1930 type front fenders,
the front bumper arms were mounted to the frame
with special studs that also supported the front splash
shield. There were three versions of mounting studs.
They varied in design on the splash shield support
end. All mounting studs were made in one piece.
• Used through early 1930 – The splash shield
support end was hexagonal over its entire
length measuring either 5/8” or 11/16”.
• Used April through mid 1930 – The splash shield
support end was changed to 15/32” round with
a shallow 11/16” hex at the frame rail.
Used from June 1930 to the end of production – The
hexagonal portion was changed to 5/8” square.
A special spacer under the cross brace was used on 1930
through end of production vehicles

Re: 31 Victoria Bumper Arms

There's the front most of the front bumper arms and then front most of the rear bumper arm. So what end of the car is the question?

If it is the rear, remember the lip goes under the frame rail not on top.
