How are the Coker tires now? Looking to buy a couple of sets for 19 inch and a set for 21. Just caught the tail end of some grousing over the tires a guy bought recently that had problems of shredding very quickly. Was that anyone elses experience or are they generally okay for touring? (55 MPH mostly.) Not much over that on purpose, ever.

Stick with the Firestone’s or Mitchlen’s and you’ll be happier at 55mph. The cheaper brands aren’t as good imo

I have been very pleased with the Firestone tires I purchased from Coker.

The Goodyear Diamond treads are a far better tire then anything Coker sells. The look better, drive better, rarely need weights, and last longer.

Hmmm, I have a set of those on my P/U and they seem to dissolve in front of my eyes.

I have both Firestones and the new Goodyear Diamond Treads. I prefer the Goodyears. They look more authentic and don't turn a chalky white like the Firestones do.

Have used the cheaper tires in the past and you get what you pay for. My latest purchases are Goodyears. Our '31 Coupe has them. The 400A in my avatar has Firestones but has been waiting for Goodyears I've bought for it to be installed. The size, look, ride, fit in a welled fender, etc. is better.

Which of the tires on the market today score highest in Fine Point Judging?
In the RG/JS many of the original tire details would seem difficult, if not impossible, to recreate...
I've got a set of virtually unused Denman's (stored since the 70s) that I plan to use initially when my Cabriolet gets on the road, but they're white walls, and I will need a new 'correct' set eventually...
I don't know if this is the best place to ask this question. Hope so...

I bought a set of universals from coker a few years ago, I think that's what they are anyway. They've lasted well and drive/handle good.

I have cokers 19" WW radials and they have been great.

I've had a set of Coker radials for a couple of months but I haven't had time to install them yet. From all the feedback I read everyone seems to really like the ride and handling so I bought a set.

Last year I replaced a set of Firestones with a set of 19 inch Coker whitewall radials on my 1930 Tudor. The car drives better, rides smoother and is quieter going down the road... almost like a modern car. I don't show my car....I drive it... I would definitely buy the Coker radials again.

American Classic Radials. USA made. 19" Model A Ford.

Looks like Coker is running a sale on these thru June 30th. Nice looking tire;) And they don't 'look' like radials so much they look more like a bias ply tire. I'd lean awfully hard towards these.

I also have a Goodyear, and have been very happy with ride, handling, and wear....plus they just look great on a Model A!

If you look at the SKU number for the Model A tires, then look on the rebate form the Model A tire is not eligible for the $80 rebate.

I also found the rebate wasn't on the Model A tires when I bought them.:(

The vast majority of vintage tires are made at factory owned by Coker. Brand name is molded but for Example a Firestone, Goodyear stamped tire are Not built by either company.
Tread design and profile is what effects handling. Some of the stuff out of Chile was pretty good but no longer available.
