9 inch. Ford Rearend Issue.

It appears that the rearend housing on my 69 Torino is bent upward on the left side of the car. The leftside sits lower than the right. I replaced the leaf springs with new units, so I know it isn't the springs. I won't be able to check it out, further til Spring. Has anyone had any experience with trying to straighten a rearend housing, and if so, how did you go about it and did it work.

The way to straighten a rear housing to to remove the rear and pull it all apart and put on a jig to have it straightened .
Honestly it's best to let a professional do that for you or just get another housing and swap the parts .

Don't be too quick to rule out the springs.
Measure the distance between the top of the spring and bottom of the frame on the right side, then measure again on the left side in the exact same location you measured on the right. Compare the two measurements.
Sometimes the new spring sets are not equally arched.
If you find that it is the springs at fault, you can shim up between the rear shackle mount and frame to make up the difference

You can string a rear end pretty easily, clamp a straight piece of flat stock on the rotor or axle flange on both sides, and measure it. Check for toe in/out while you are at it. As far as straightening it, call some circle track race shops in your area, someone will have a jig. Mark
