SAR 34 Roadster Body

Has anyone had any experience with Steve's Auto Restorations steel 34 Ford roadster bodies?

Re: SAR 34 Roadster Body

My car is a pre SAR body from Don Babb. He sold the original tooling to Steve's. My car turned out very nice, however, having seen the bodies at the LA Roadster show that SAR produces, I can say that they are a much nicer product that Don ever produced. Don's doors were hand made, SAR's are die stamped.

I have been very satisfied with my car.

No experience with the roadster bodies, but bought lots of patch panels from him. Overall, happy with everything, but the panel below the trunk lid on my '33 5W could have fit a little better. I am sure with the money anyone would invest in a roadster, the attention to detail would be pretty high. I'm heading home in a couple weeks and making a trip down to Portland, so I'll be able to check out the operation in person.

I have done a customer car with one and it was a very good product, that was 5/6 years ago. I did a chassis this spring for a shop in Kansas and they built the car in less than 4 months using the 2010 version. I saw the completed car at the LARS and it was bitchin.

Re: SAR 34 Roadster Body

I bought a couple of cut out upper body parts on Ebay, i think they are SAR's .
Since im not aware of anyone else manufacturing the Roadster sides.

Anyway it is junk, when put up against the original part.

But if you dont compare it to an original body i guess it's Ok (maybe).
Depends on what you are going to do.
