If I read the auction results correctly, "your" car has changed-hands once again for the paltry sum of $165K + fees. That cup holder must have "clinched" the deal. DD |

In all seriousness, thanks for the kind words. I wish I had time to start on the other one ('40 convertible) I have sitting here. |
Re: Dingman Collection auction Everyone in the hobby knows the old adage "if the top goes down, the price goes up" however; I was surprised to see that a '38 LZ Coupe sold for more money than a '38 LZ Convertible Sedan, '39 LZ Convertible Sedan and a'39 LZ Convertible Club Coupe... Far more LZ Coupes were produced in '38 &'39... It goes without saying that the late '30's Zephyr Coupes are some of the most beautiful production cars to come out of Ford:D but it's still surprising (to me at least, to see closed cars bring more money than open cars). Every car in the auction looked super in the photos, wish I had a few hundred thousand dollars just to spend on toys... Think I'll start looking for a bargain on a ‘39 Zephyr Coupe... Imagine that!;)
