1934 3 window rear window felts

I am installing the interior into my 3-window coupe, and have several questions reguarding the window felt trim.
My kit is from vintique, and it came with a rubber weatherstrip for the top seal. When I look at my fathers coupe, his has a felt channel, like in the doors or on the side of the back window.
I guess either will work to seal, but what is correct?
Thanks for any advice, robbie

The original upper seal was rubber without any fabric covering.

The one in the Avatar car was a petrified black lumpy string . Almost looked like old dried glue . Car sat in a tiny metal roofed shed in Sonora CA for over 50 years and all rubber was smoked .

my car has the original rubber seal still in place at top of the rear window.I think Bob Drake has the seal you need.

The side pieces fit into these metal channels. They help to keep the side pieces from moving when there is no support from the garnish.

Sounds like the rubber seal is the way to go, thanks for the pictures, I am missing those metal channels. my side felts are kind of loose, like they need more screws.
that channel would snug every thing up.
