Need color-coded spark plug wires for 59AB.

I'm rebuilding my 59AB engine with the original distributor and would like to use color-coded spark plug wires instead of the original brown wires. To me, the original brown wires are just plain hideous.

Will color-coded spark plug wires for a 1942-1944 21A be long enough? (I tend to think the wires are just a little longer on the 59AB due to the wires having to go into the distributor cap instead of plugging into the outside of a crab-style distributor cap.)

I guess another alternative would to buy spools of wire and cut them to the needed length, but I would likely have a lot of left over wire.

You might check with some one like Narragansett (SP??) wire, Rhode Island Wire or Tyree Harris. They can make up wires to your specs

I'll second Tyree Harris. He has made several harnesses for me. Great guy, great product, great service. Lawson I never had much success with Narragansett myself. Didn't I read where some awful event besat them a couple of years ago, a fire maybe? I really dunno, but I like Tyree.

Maybe these guys are still in business or not. Ordered bulk before and not unsatisfied. Make sure you know what you are looking for before ordering... electronic ignition or points... the wires matter.

You might want to try "The Brillman Company". They specialize mainly in vintage tractors, but they have a ton of stuff for general use. I received an order from them yesterday, and it contained a printed catalog of over 900 pages!

Need a 6 volt 40 amp 6V positive ground alternator or an ignition switch for a magneto (on is open, off is closed)? They got it and more.

Give YnZ Yesterday's Parts a call. They list colored spark plug wires on their web site. They also have stuff not listed so even if you don't see the wires you want they might have them. They are car guys and their wire harnesses are top notch. Gene, the owner comes to our Saturday morning coffee and donuts get together/BS session. Good guy.

I second The Brillman Company. I get all my cloth wire, spark plug wires, and other vintage wiring supplies from them and have been happy with their products and their service. Their catalog is a plus.

Third for Tyree Harris. I believe he makes the kits Michael @ Third Gen sells.

Tyree is a true craftsman and gentleman to boot!

I can't speak to the kits from Mac's @ Van Pelts, but if Charlie gives them the thumbs up, they must be good as well.

I agree with Tubman on Brillman. I have done business with them in the past. Their service is very good. I have found their products to be very good. Their catalog is super and they are close enough to me that I can go pick items up.
