'30-1 door identification This year I am going to drive to Hershey and bring a pickup truck load of things to sell. But I need help. I am a '28-9 guy who specializes in very early and early '28s. I don't know much about '30-1 stuff.
So I need help identifying these doors. What type A's would these fit? Once identified I will put them in the Fordbarn want ads. If someone is interested I will bring them to Hershey. It seems like this would be a good way to pre-sell and not haul things over 2,000 and just have to bring them back. I got these doors from a hot rodder and they are both perfect with no rust. So I wonder what they came off of? If the doors are perfect what was the body like...gulp. Thanks for your help in identifying these doors. Re: '30-1 door identification It is a right & left front doors off a four door briggs 1929 to early 1930
|
Re: '30-1 door identification I agree with jw. I would have given my left xxx for those a year ago! They are very difficult to replace the wood in!
|
Re: '30-1 door identification Lee, it is a shame because the wood is in very good condition.
So they're from a Briggs 1929 to early '30. As I said I am an ear;y '28 guy and don't have a club nearby where I can learn such things. I do appreciate the help. It intrigues me that a door would change during 1930. Would someone please explain. Thanks. Dean |
Re: '30-1 door identification I think they would fit up to early 31 Briggs with the straight WS.

Re: '30-1 door identification Yep, it's the same as on that old beater pictured below. :D To my knowledge there were no notable changes to that door from early '29 to the time those bodies were replaced with slant windshield models in early 1931.

Re: '30-1 door identification Very funny Marco. You probably really annoyed Ray Archer, the new owner of that "old beater". Yes, there is a bit of egg on my face. :-)
I just dug these out of the corner of the garage where they have been for years. Yes, I should have made a better connection but to sell them I need to know everything that they would fit. Thanks to all for your help. Dean |

Yup,
Looks like a Briggs fordoor. These are real nice doors to work with, and relatively inexpensive. I used two on the huckster I am building and paid $50 for the pair at Renningers this spring. Yours look particularly nice ! |
