Try connecting a ground wire to the headlight and see if that fixes the problem

well they are bolted to the frame on this lil speedster, so I know they are grounded

I had all of the lights go out on my '28 Tudor last night. The PO had installed a fuse right at the alternator output. The fuse itself was OK but the holder was toast. I bypassed it and drove home. Did the job properly today.

Not necessarily. Nuts and bolts make lousy conductors when they start to rust.

Have you checked the bulbs ----I had a customer with modern car come in, he is electrical engineer, no headlights ---he said must be bad switch---I said lets check bulbs---"it can't be bulbs"----2 bulbs later they were working

Bad grounds can happen. I know that well.

Bad ground at the battery end can do that too.
