Batteries

I learned some thing the other day about batteries and electronic ignition. With electronic your battery must be NEARLY fully charged for the module to work. A lower charged battery that turns the engine over may not have enough charge for the module to work. Happened to me....

Re: Batteries

And what do you call a "nearly fully" and a "lower charged" battery !?

But also this : why did you start at least 4 threads about the same issue 'electronic ignition' ???

Vermin sat 2 1/2 Years with a NEW Optima & NO charging. I sold Vermin & the Optima started it, with NO CHARGING!

That's a good reason to keep your Battery Maintainer hooked up to your battery when you're not driving the car every day.

Same can happen with points . If you've got a weak 6 volt battery , the starter can slowly turn the engine but won't have hot enough spark to start the engine . Usually , at such times a quick uplift of the hand crank will start the engine .
