Does any one know what a script battery box hollowed out for a 6 volt Optima complete with Lou Trinque top is worth....Thanks

The last battery box I bought for an Optima was almost $100, which I thought was excessive. And, it was not script. It was the only game in town, so I bought one. Except for the script part, it worked well.

Later, I was at the local FLAPS, and there was a Ford script battery sitting on the floor, next to the counter. I asked the guys about it, and they said it was a trade-in and that I could have it if I paid the battery core charge. I bought it for $8.00 and was going to take it back to my shop and gut it, but when I got there and measured it, it was almost 2 inches too short. It's still sitting in the corner of my shop.

Could a case be 3D printed maybe a flat side at a time, or would that get you in trouble with Ford licensing.

Past reports by Barn members is that at least some of the script batteries tend to be short lived.

These Ford Script Battery Boxes are made in Australia. The V8 Club Member who makes them has shipped some overseas to owners of early Ford V8's. If interested, let me know and I will give you contact details.

I have made 1933-34 ford script box for several years . I dont make the top the battery hold down covers the top . I will post pictures. My price is $50 + shipping.
The box is made of fiberglass . an optma does fit.

You didn’t understand the post. What Nick makes is the box without a top, used under the floor of an early Ford. Your battery is visible under the hood.

I have just contacted the Australian V8 Club Member who manufactures these Ford Script Cases for Optima Batteries.
They were made from Aluminium and are very authentic, as you can see in the above picture.
However, after making 50 of these Cases, many of which were sent to the USA, John has ceased production.
They were very time consuming to make with little financial rewards.
John is now able to spend time on his own projects, time that he didn't have while making these Battery Cases.
