1956 Mandarin Orange

I need a color code for 1956 mandarin orange. Previous posts information has been of no use trying to get a urethane paint formula in ppg or dupont. Please help! The sunliner is almost ready!!

its no use you cant get anything in urethane at least I couldn't.all the old codes are useless.dupont gives you the closest thing which is atlas orange.i was not happy.in this day and age I couldn't believe they couldn't come up with something.

I checked them out and they do have a good selection, prices don't sound to bad. My concern was how well they mixed the color , good or bad match ? After it has been mixed and shipped out to the customer i believe it will need mixing again so how should that be done ? I have had my local building center do it in the past with their shaker but most won't do it. Would it be just as good to use three mixing containers to mix one gal. By mixing and dumping from one container to the other ?____:)

if your color is in multiple containers I would mix them all together if its in one just use two paint sticks held in a v formation and mix being that its a solid color you shouldn't have to much trouble if it's metallic it will take more work also put small holes in the area where the lid seals so paint will drain back to container if you have a part that has good color most autobody supply stores can scan it for a match

I took a small part, went over it with polishing compound by hand, then two coats of wax. Held it in the sunlight to scan, the new paint was mixed and it matched perfectly.

BASF was able to provide the correct color for the Sunset Coral on my 58 Edsel when NO ONE else could. My supplier called in the color, Edsel paint code and year and 30 minutes later I had a quart. Turns out it was a perfect match.
