Re: storage

IMO, if you have any kind of mouse repellent in the vehicle, NO, leave them up.

Re: storage

I used to close the windows and put the cover on, and use repellent inside my cars. But....the mice still got inside and under the hood. So, I tried leaving the windows down, hood and trunk open, and moth balls inside, no cover......no mice for the past 8 or so years. Maybe just lucky.....

Jmo but I think it would matter on if the car where stored. The wife's ride is stored in heated garage and always so far been fine in the spring with windows up under a cover for dust with a desiccant bag thrown in for good measure. My older ride in unheated pole building with no heat ended up having mildew problem under cover with windows up. After removing cover and leaving windows down seems ok except for dust and dirt. If you have rodent problem windows will not stop them, only hungry cats will.

Re: storage

“Fresh Cab” packets and closed windows do the trick in northern Maine. Don’t forget to put steel wool in tailpipe. If using moth balls, I restrict to engine bay.

They tell me that mice like dark areas to nest. Glove boxes, tail pipes, under the hood, under seats, etc.---- probably is best to leave these areas open if you can or else really close them up tight.
